Printing servicesTSG provides a wide array of print services. Our staff are highly skilled and are dedicated to handling the work that takes up much of your staff's valuable time.
Note: for stationery supplies, such as letterheads and business cards, please contact Monash Print Services. Booklets, flyers and publicationsWe have high-quality laser printers able to print small to large quantities of publications. We can offer a 'design-to-print' job processes with a range of finishing options from saddle-stitching (stapled booklet) and wire binding, to folding and shrink wrapping. Photo-quality inkjet printsWe offer a high-quailty photographic inkjet printing for photos and for journal submissions, to SR-A3 size. Posters and bannersResearch postersWe have a large-scale poster printer which prints from a paper roll, for posters for display and conferences. The size limit along one edge is 90cm but can be any length. Optional laminating is available in a gloss laminate. See posters for further information on research posters and to download templates. A4 and A3 postersOur laser printers are also able to print standard posters to A3 size. Layout and design services are available. Quickscreen 3 banners (pull-up banners)Quickscreen 3 banners are printed on a vinyl material and come in their own chrome stand and carry case. They stands can have a variety of different coloured ends including black, white, red and blue. Quickscreen banners are usually required to be branded and we can offer this design service. We will need high-quality images (see FAQs).
Design time for quickscreen banners usually takes a few working days, depending on the amount of proofing and other necessary work (eg obtaining high-resolution images). Then, as they are outsourced, they usually take 5-7 working days to produce after artwork is sent to the printers. Black and white printing, and/or photocopyingWe have a high-speed black and white machine able to print large-volume, high-quality black and white prints for booklets, manuals, reports, documents and teaching materials. We are able to provide a design and print service for covers and a range of finishing options (see below). Automated scanning to pdf is also available for small to large documents (A4 size). Finishing optionsWhen submitting your job, please let us know the specific type of finishing options you would like. If unsure, please call us and we can advise you on the most appropriate and cost-effective option.
1. Saddle-stitchingBooklets that are stapled in the centre and folded to A4 or A5 size. Booklets have 2 staples along the spine. 2. StapledPages can have 2 staples on left, or 1 staple in top-left corner. 3. BindingWire, coil/continuous, plastic and perfect binding available. As this is done by hand, please allow enough production time for binding. Some binding is outsourced and requires 3 working days. See Other services for examples and further details on binding. 4. Shrink wrappingDocuments can be shrink wrapped in clear plastic and sealed. As this is done by hand, please allow enough production time for shrink wrapping. 5. Hole punchingDocuments can have 4 hole punches on the left side. 6. Folder inserts and spinesWe are able to print folder inserts and spines. Please let us know the dimensions of the folder and spine before we commence the job as the are all slightly different. Allow 2-3mm space between each side for easier insertion. 7. Clear plastic coversClear plastic covers are recommended for bound documents to give added protection to the covers. They can be inserted on the front and/or back before binding. Coloured paperWe have a range of different coloured paper stock, from normal to heavier weights. Coloured paper can be used to separate sections of printed documents, for example. Offset printingOur staff are able to liaise with external offset printers to provide high-quality printing process for large volumes of publication materials. Offset printing is best for large print runs as it offers the highest level of quality at a cheaper per-unit rate after the initial setup. Multimedia staff will determine the suitability of offset printing on a per-job basis. Please note offset printing requires longer printing timelines (around 10 working days).
