QSR Licence Conditions

Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh
  1. Monash University has a site licence for QSR software.
  2. QSR software includes three products:- QSR N4 Classic, QSR N5,QSR N6 and QSR NVivo 2.0. Monash is entitled to any updates to these products, when released.
  3. The QSR site licence includes support and maintenance for the software. Support questions should be raised through IT-Support, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences.
  4. The following people are entitled to use QSR software under the Monash site licence:
    1. Staff members of Monash University who are working 0.5 time or greater.
    2. Monash University students who are enrolled in a for-credit course.
  5. The QSR licence agreement permits Monash licensed users of QSR products to load and use a copy or QSR software on a personal computer at home. That is, a staff member working 0.5 time or more, or an enrolled Monash student may take a CD of QSR software home from the University and copy the software on to a personal computer.
  6. You may not alter, decompile, disassemble, merge, modify or adapt the QSR software in any way. You may not lend, rent, lease or license the software or any copy of it.
  7. Copyright: All intellectual property rights in the software and user documentation are owned by QSR and its suppliers and are protected by Australian and international copyright laws. QSR retains all rights not expressly granted. This software may include software components sourced from and copyright to Rogue Wave Software Inc., Yves Roumazeilles, Virtual Media Technology, Lotus Development Corporation, Paige DataPak Software, Adobe Systems Inc. and Microsoft Corporation.

  • Intel® Pentium® processor 400MHz (800MHz or better preferred)
  • Windows 98, Windows NT®* 4.0 with Service Pack 5 or 6, Windows 2000, or Windows XP
  • 32 MB of RAM (Windows 98), 64 MB (Windows 2000/XP)
  • 50 MB of available hard-disk space

Apple Macintosh

  • PowerPC® processor
  • Mac OS software version 8.6, 9.0.4, 9.1**
  • 8MB (16MB recommended)
  • 150 MB of available hard-disk space

** Please note that N4 Classic does not run under Mac OS X or its "Classic mode". If you also have Mac OS 9 (bundled with Mac OS X 10.0 and 10.1, or from your previous computer) then N4 Classic will run if you boot up in Mac OS 9.
