  • Which version of Endnote works with my Macintosh office version?

Not all versions of Endnote are compatible with all versions of Microsoft Office for the Macintosh. To view the Macintosh Word Processor Compatibility table, please visite the Endnote website: http://www.endnote.com/support/en_wpchart_mac.asp

  • Damaged/Damaged/Corrupt Library

Occasionally computer files get damaged. If an EndNote library gets damaged, you may get an error message when trying to open it or work with the references. The best way to protect yourself from damaged files is to make regular backup copies of your important documents. If you do not have a backup copy of a damaged EndNote library, you can use the Recover Library command to repair the damaged file.

To repair a damaged EndNote library:
    1. Close the library if it is currently open.
    2. From the Tools menu, choose Recover Library. Read the information about the Recover Library command, and click OK.
    3. In the dialog that appears, locate and select the library that needs to be repaired, and click Open.
    4. EndNote creates a copy of the library with the suffix “-Saved” added to the name. For example, if you were repairing a library called “References” the original library would remain untouched and a new, repaired library called “References - Saved” would be created in the same location. Once the new library has been saved, you should be able to open it and use it in place of the damaged library.
  • Endnote will not format Word Documents and Crashes

This may due to the fact that the document has Track Changes feature turned on and that the word document has become very large (many Mbs) from retaining the histrory of many changes eg. research papers. To solve this issues, please tuen track changes off, or select "Accept All Changes in Document" and then rerun the Endote Bibilography.
