Security Tips
- Don’t say yes to prompts offering to remember your user name and password, like the one illustrated below.

- Don’t leave your notebook, personal belongings such your wallet, keys, briefcase or handbag, or PDA (eg Palm Pilot, or Pocket PC) in plain view while your office is unattended.
- Do think about installing a cable-based lock, such as a Kensington lock, on your notebook.

- If you would like more information about security systems, log the request in IT JobDesk.
- Do use a screen lock whenever you leave your desk. Information about setting up a screen lock is on the ITS security tips page.
- Do back up your data regularly - knowing where your work is stored as well as where your backups are stored protects your data. It’s also a good idea to regularly backup your work to a CD that you store at home as a form of business continuity planning for disasters. If you require assistance with this, please log a request with ITJobDesk.
