Passwords

As a staff member you may have access to a number of computer systems requiring different passwords.Your password is used like a PIN number to control access to Monash-linked computer systems. You should change your password regularly, at least once a month. Please do not re-use old passwords.

Good Passwords

For details on selecting a good password see the ITS Security Page: "What makes a good password?"

Site password requests in clear text

If a web site requests a password using clear text that anyone around you can read, try to connect to it via a secure link by typing “https” before the WWW address you are trying to reach rather than the standard “http”. If offered a choice, always select https rather than http.
