Monash University Addhost System

Addhost is the system the Monash network uses keep track of devices that connect to it, and to manage them appropriately. Any device connecting to the Monash network will need to be registered in Addhost before it will be able to access most network services (such as e-mail and the Internet). Wireless enabled devices, such as PDAs and laptops, have to be registered by the user/owner. Any device that connects through the wired network needs to be need to be registered by TSG.

Wireless registration

To register your device in Addhost, you will need to find out the MAC (not Apple Macintosh; MAC in this case refers to Media Allocation Code, otherwise known as the hardware address) address of the device. To find out your device's MAC address, please follow the instructions found on 'What is my MAC address' page.

Once you have your MAC address, go to http://addhost.its.monash.edu.au/cgi-bin/register and follow the instructions. Registration will take up to a half hour to take effect.

Wired Registration

To have your PC or laptop registered for wired access, please fill out the request for network registration form.
