Stephen Blamey is a specialist surgeon with wide experience and interest in upper GI and colorectal surgery. A graduate of Monash University and trained in surgery at the Alfred Hospital, Mr Blamey worked in the UK for 3 years after completing surgical training to gain advanced skills in colorectal and upper GI surgery. While interested in other aspects of general surgery such as thyroid disease, he does not practice in the breast cancer field. His interest in GI surgery includes the surgical management of obesity (Bariatric Surgery). Mr Blamey has a special interest in Laparoscopic Upper GI Surgery and has extensive experience in Laparoscopic AntiReflux Surgery. Mr Blamey is Chair of MSAC (Medical Services Advisory Committee), which advises the Federal Minister of Health on the introduction of new technology to the Australian Health Care system. He also has a specific interest in issues of Infection Control and represents the RACS on the Victorian Advisory Committee on Infection Control (VACIC), which advises the Victorian Government http://www.health.vic.gov.au/ on these issues. He has been involved in the development of web based information on aspects of GI Surgery. John Leslie MB BS (Melb), FRACS
John Leslie is a specialist surgeon with a wide interest in Upper GI and General Surgery. His undergraduate training was at Melbourne University followed by graduate training in Surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. After a period of overseas training, he joined the staff of Prince HenryÕs Hospital, which subsequently merged with Queen Victoria Medical Centre to become Monash Medical Centre at Clayton. Mr Leslie has considerable experience and interest in most aspects of Upper GI and Biliary Surgery.
Roger Berry MB, BS, FRACS
Roger Berry is a specialist Hepatobiliary surgeon. Mr Berry graduated from Monash University and went on to surgical post graduate training at Monash Medical Centre. Mr Berry focused early on hepatobiliary surgery and went on to post fellowship training at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne and Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane to further develop his interest in Liver Transplantation Surgery. As well as working at Monash Medical Centre, Mr Berry is a Senior Transplant Surgeon at the Austin Hospital Liver Transplant Service. http://www.armc.org.au/Default.htm
John Gribbin MB, BS, FRACS
Mr Gribbin graduated from Monash University and trained in surgery at Prince HenryÕs and Monash Medical Centre where he was appointed as a Consultant surgeon. He then chose to develop his special interest in upper GI surgery with a particular focus on Laparoscopic Surgery. He has used these skills to develop the operation of Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy in association with the Renal Transplant Service at Monash. Mr Gribbin has made a huge contribution to undergraduate and postgraduate training in surgery at Monash Medical Centre. |
