Introductory Comments

The Department of Surgery has opportunities available for both undergraduate and postgraduate students who wish to obtain a higher degree. These include one year projects for students who wish to complete an Honours year, or obtain the Bachelor of Medical Science degree. There are also major research projects for those interested in completing a Ph.D. or Master of Surgery.

1. Prevention of Colorectal Cancer by NSAIDs and related agents

• b -catenin, COX-1 and COX-2, cyclin D1 - mRNA expression, competitive RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry, lab, animal and clinical studies,

2. Treatment of Liver Metastases and Primary Liver Tumours
