Rural Health in the MBBS - Year 5As the Monash program rolls out, we expect that there will be significant exchange between the various programs of Monash MBBS. While students from the Extended Rural Cohort (ERC) and the Gippsland Medical School (GMS) will undertake the majority of their clinical training within the regions of Northern Victoria and Gippsland, respectively, there will be opportunities for training in metropolitan sites in Year 5. Students will be required to complete their RUSC requirements, i.e. at least four weeks training in a rural environment over the course of the MBBS degree. For 2009, Monash Malaysia Year 5 students will spend two rotations in Victoria, with the significant clinical placement occuring in metropolitan Melbourne. Year 5 Central Program students will have the opportunity, and in some cases the obligation, to undertake rotation(s) in rural Victoria, and Malaysia. Contacts for Year 5Kay Togno Vicki Dane
