Rural Health in the Undergraduate Medical Degree (MBBS)Rural Health in the Undergraduate Medical Degree (MBBS)All MBBS students are required to spend at least four week in a rural area to gain some insights into the communities and work of the people who live there. In years 1 and 2 medical students are allocated to various sites around Victoria where they undertake a range of activities. The different locations around Victoria give students a diverse picture of 'rural'. In year 5 students have an opportunity to spend another six weeks in a rural hospital
Extended Rural Cohort clinical yearsYears 3, 4 and 5 for all MBBS students are spent in clinical training. Students in the Extended Rural Cohort stream spend five of six of their clinical semesters in rural or regional locations. In some years there may be an opportunity for a small number of non-ERC MBBS students to undertake extended clinical training at a rural site. Further informationCarolyn Vaughan POSTAL ADDRESS:
