| Biography |
Mollie’s Rural Health experience covers research, education, management and clinical practice in acute and community health service settings. Her Masters of Rural Health (Research) is titled ‘Advanced Nursing Practice: A Bush Nursing perspective’. Outcomes from this research were: identification of four key drivers of quality in the bush nursing setting; the changing role of bush nurses; implementation of Health Outcomes monitoring for bush nursing clients; examining the Bush Nursing Centres governance structures and exploring both positive and negative clinical experiences of bush nurses. From earlier ‘Urgent Care’ research the ‘Transforming Rural Urgent Care Systems (TrUCs)’ Community Development process was developed. The TrCUs process was initially implemented in Mallacoota, in far east Victoria, and the implementation of a new role - Community Ambulance Officer - was the outcome. In 2006 Mt.Buller–Mt.Stirling commenced their TrUCs journey. Over a 2-year period, involving community consultation, an Advanced Practice Nursing clinic role was developed and formally commenced in November 2008. |
