Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Catherine Haigh, completed an Honours Degree in Psychology at Dublin University: Trinity College, and PhD at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. Catherine commenced work in the Gippsland Regional Clinical School, located in the Latrobe Regional Hospital in July 2008 and is developing, coordinating and teaching units in the Psychology and Psychological Studies major.  Catherine is currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Health Professional Education.

'Reliability of Assessment in the MCR.'
The purpose of this research project is to establish the reliability of assessment in the Monash Mini-Case Record.  The Monash Mini-Case Record has obvious strengths as an assessment tool.  It has ecological validity across a wide range of clinical situations.  For example, it provides feedback that is immediate and allows the development of specific action plans for enhancing relevant knowledge and skills.  However, because each Monash Mini-Case Record represents a unique interaction between patient, student and assessor, concerns have been raised as to consistency in grading performance.  This project should identify where, if any, inconsistencies lie, and allow for the development of training tools to enhance performance of evaluators and students.
