Anske is currently working on a doctoral study about the beliefs and concerns of people that use complementary or alternative medicine in Victoria. She is interested in the health care concerns and needs of patients generally, and in what ways the current health care system supports these needs. She is also interested in rural people and the rural environment, and the traditional notions of stoicism and resilience as characteristics that affect their health care behaviours.

Since she joined the School of Rural Health in1999, she has worked on a variety of research projects, undertaking and assisting with data collection, and general research tasks. She has undertaken graduate studies in the field of sociology and communication.

Prior to joining the School of Rural Health in 1999, Anske worked with the Australian Rural Health Research Institute, and searched for, selected, and categorised literature for each of three extensive rural health annotated bibliographies published by the Institute.
