What's it like working in research?
If you're thinking about a research career or a higher degree by research, a Monash University summer research scholarship will give you a two or three-week taster. Projects run over the summer break between December and February. And if you're a regionally-based student looking for local opportunities, Monash Rural Health offers a number of projects in Mildura, Bendigo and Gippsland.
Who is eligible?
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement. To be eligible to apply, you'll also need to meet all these conditions:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, holder of an Australian permanent resident or permanent humanitarian visa, or an international student.
- Be enrolled as an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) student with an Australian higher education provider
- Normally have completed at least the second year of an undergraduate degree
- Not a full-time, continuing employee of Monash University
What's the value of the scholarship?
If you're awarded a summer research research scholarship with Monash Rural Health, you'll receive a $200/week stipend.
Accommodation is also available at some sites, if required.
