Department of Rural and Indigenous Health

The Department of Rural and Indigenous Health is a major research and education program within the Monash University School of Rural Health. Its brief is to undertake research activities that address the health problems of special importance and relevance for rural populations and, because of the multi-faceted nature of these problems, involves collaborations between investigators from the biomedical, social and population sciences. It also seeds, adds value to, and undertakes educational activities that encourage and support the recruitment, professional development and retention of rural health professionals from a wide range of disciplines.
