Short Courses

At MUDRIH we are committed to providing accessible high quality continuing education for rural health professionals. Our courses are designed to be suitable for allied health professionals, nurses, doctors and paramedics.

All short courses will be presented by lecturers from Department of Rural and Indigenous Health. Proposed topics vary from time to time depending on demand and are designed to respond to continuing education needs of Gippsland rural health professionals.

This three hour course will cover the practicalities of post graduate study for working health professionals.

Evidence Based Practice for Health Professionals

This four-hour short course will provide a practical on-line workshop in a step by step literature review using on-line data bases.

Research for Health Professionals

This popular 10 hour course was offered in 2008. It is designed to provide step-by-step, easy to follow guidelines for carrying out health care research.

Short courses in Interprofessional learning

Short courses exploring Interprofessional Learning will be offered in 2009. These courses may articulate into the Masters CRH1016 unit or be taken individually. The first focus will be on:
Setting the scene—Foundations of Interprofessional Education and Practice
Making it happen—Applying Interprofessional Concepts to Practice

The format for delivery of these short courses is not yet finalised but may involve:

4-weeks of study and attendance at a workshop OR
2-day seminar/workshop OR
Distance education by contract learning.

Training in Program Evaluation
