Jane is an allied health professional who has had extensive clinical experience as a speech pathologist in rural areas in Victoria as well as with a stint practising overseas in hospitals in the UK. Her core professional practice has been as a speech pathologist in primary and secondary education, with additional experience in course development, and teaching and learning as a rural outreach worker in TAFE. Over the past four years Jane has been dividing her time between her private speech pathology practice in Gippsland, and part time teaching and research at Monash.
Jane recently completed the Master of Rural Health. Her minor thesis examined the rural impact on families of children with autism.
As post graduate coordinator at MUDRIH, Jane’s focus of interest is on providing a high quality learning environment where health professionals have opportunities to interact, update their knowledge and improve their interprofessional collaborative practice.
Jane is currently seconded for twelve months to Latrobe Community Health Service where she is coordinating a pilot student supervised clinic.
