Monash University Department of Rural and Indigenous Health Darryl MayberyAssociate Professor of Mental HealthTelephone: +61 3 5128 1017 Darryl’s childhood was spent on the family farm in the Wimmera region of Victorian and most of his education was by distance education through Deakin and James Cook Universities. He spent 15 years as a drug and alcohol counsellor, prison and employee assistance psychologist. His University teaching has been in the areas of research methodology, statistics, therapeutic interventions and program evaluation. He has over 40 publications, 30 conference presentations, has successfully supervised over 30 honours, Masters and/or Phd students to completion and has successfully acquitted 15 research grants totalling over $500,000. He researches in the areas of stress, mental health and wellbeing, positive psychology and rurality. His major research focus is in the area of families with parental mental illness. He maintains editorial roles with the Journal Rural Society and The Australian e-Journal for the Advancement of Mental Health. Publications
