Fees and Travel
Accommodation Service Fee
The Accommodation Service Fee is a student contribution towards the cost of accommodation and provision of utilities. In 2012, it is set at $65 per week per student, from the date of occupancy until fully vacated (including all possessions) including semester breaks, regardless of the location of the accommodation. The fee is reviewed annually.
Overnight guests will be charged a fee at the discretion of the Regional Manager or Accommodation Manager. This will be charged to the host student’s account.
Travel reimbursement
Students use their own vehicle for daily transport within a 20 km radius of their residence at their own expense. Students who travel outside that 20 km radius for required curriculum-related activities will be reimbursed at the rate listed below.
- 20 cents per kilometre
- plus an extra $50 when total distance travelled during the placement period exceeds 1,000 km.
Students must complete the appropriate claim form to recoup these costs. Students located at East Gippsland should refer to the local student administration handbook where different arrangements are based on the above principles.
