Opportunities for study in Psychology and Psychiatry in 2010
PhD project in Experimental Neuropsychology/Neuroscience
The Experimental Neuropsychology Research Unit, School of Psychology, Psychiatry and Psychological Medicine, under the Directorship of Associate Professor Nellie Georgiou-Karistianis, is seeking a PhD student to conduct a project on characterizing cognitive and motor signatures in different sub-types of Parkinson's disease. This is important for drug development so we can target drugs for specific symptomatology's rather than trying to treat the disease as a whole. The project will involve liaising with neurologists, testing of individuals with and without Parkinson's disease, operating experimental computerized tasks, statistical analyses and thesis preparation in the form of publications. The group is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and organized individual who can work well in a team and can lead this new initiative in 2010. If you are interested in finding out more about the project please contact Nellie on (03) 9905 1575 or nellie.georgiou-karistianis@med.monash.edu.au
