Vision & Mission

The Vision

To be a national and international leader of teaching and research in biological, cognitive, developmental, psychoanalytic, social-cultural and behavioural aspects of the human psychological system.

The Mission

In achieving its mission the School will actively engage the community and foster quality teaching and research in the multi-disciplinary fields of psychology, psychiatry and psychological medicine.

Goals

The goals of the School are consistent with the goals of the University and the Faculty. These goals are to be achieved by creating a framework for the management of the School's human and financial resources, which focuses on the production of measurable outcomes.

Goal 1: Develop a School ethos supportive of the aspirations of members of the School.

Goal 2: Develop and promote existing strengths and create initiatives in teaching programs.

Goal 3: Develop strengths and create initiatives in research programs.

Goal 4: Develop existing strengths and create initiatives to serve the community through its consulting, clinical and advisory services.

Goal 5: Ensure that the School attracts the best possible cohort of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Goal 6: Develop an ethos encouraging the integration of the disciplines of psychology, psychiatry and psychological medicine in the contexts relevant to the School.

Goal 7: Develop a system of School support for students and staff that will facilitate the achievement of the above goals.
