Team member profiles
Peter Lamshed (Research Interviewer)
Pete joined Southern Synergy 2005 – he worked on the pilot project for DARE, which was funded by Beyond Blue. Previously to this he was
employed as a Registered Nurse. Pete enjoys travelling, furniture design and building.
Bernadette O'Grady (Administration / Personal Assistant)
Berni started her career as a general nurse but changed direction and worked for Telstra in the sales, accounts and fault management areas before taking a break to stay home with her four children. She resumed work after studying at TAFE in Information Technology and has been working with the University in a variety of roles including student enrolments, HR and the Monash Transition Program since 2001. She has been in this current role as Personal Assistant to Professor Meadows since January 2006.
Her interests include sewing and various handicrafts along with spending time with the family and all their various interests.
Prof Graham Meadows (Director of Southern Synergy; Principal Researcher DARE)
Graham has trained and worked in
various branches of medicine. For 20
years Graham has practiced as a
psychiatrist; he has been a Professor of Psychiatry at Monash for four years.
Outside of work he enjoys bushwalking
and cycling.
Dr Fran Shawyer (Project Manager)
Fran has primarily worked as a
researcher and clinician in the mental
health field since being registered as a psychologist in 1993. Fran loves
swimming, gardening, reading, her pet
cat “Elfy” and anything art deco.
Debbie Lang (Administration)
Debbie is employed as an Administrative Officer. She lives with partner John and has 2 children. Debbie likes to cook, go bike riding,
gardening, camping and enjoys painting and drawing. Debbie's pets comprise of 1 cat (Missy), a pond with gold fish and a tropical fish tank. Debbie has been at Southern Synergy since June 2006.
