Jerome Maller

Jerome Maller is a neuroscientist in the Brain Stimulation and Neuroimaging laboratory based at the Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre (a Department of Monash University). He has completed a Bachelor of Science, Graduate Diploma of Psychology, Masters of Science in Psychology and a PhD in Psychology and Neuroimaging, and has been involved in the fields of neuropsychology, neuroimaging and neuropsychiatry for approximately 15 years. His position involves the development and application of TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) whilst also utilizing other modalities such as electroencephalographic (EEG/ERP) and MRI-related (such as functional MRI and MRS) technologies. His main focus is the acquisition and analysis of structural brain images and this has arrived through his previous experience investigating a range of disorders including hydrocephalus, cancer, brain injury, dementia, depression, schizophrenia, and visual neglect. Jerome has recently taken up a Victorian Neurotrauma Initiative (VNI) Fellowship to investigate depression after traumatic brain injury, based on a cutting-edge MRI-based method called diffusion tensor imaging.
