Master of Organisational Psychology - no intake for 2010(on-campus)INFORMATION FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTSCourse Co-ordinator:Dr Simon Albrecht Telephone: 9903 1956 Email: simon.albrecht@med.monash.edu.auThe Master of Organisational Psychology (MOP) is studied on campus at Caulfield campus, either full-time (two years) or part-time (four years). It can also be studied by off-campus learning (OCL) (four years part-time) - see the MOP (OCL) web page for course requirements. The MOP program has received full accreditation by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC). 1. Course structureThe MOP comprises three components:i. Coursework 50% ii. (ii) Placements MOP5072 Research Design and Thesis Proposal The aim of this course is to give students an understanding of research design and methodological issues associated with undertaking organisational research. MOP6041, MOP6042 & MOP6062 Minor Thesis, Literature Review and Research Paper. Under the supervision of a staff member, students are required to complete, an independent research thesis related to organisational psychology. The thesis consists of two parts: (a) Literature review word length is 4,000 to 5,000 words, and (b) Research paper word length is 5,000 to 7,000 words. Back to Top2. Admission and enrolment requirementsApplicants for the MOP must have completed an APAC-accredited bachelor's degree with honours in psychology at a minimum of H2A level or equivalent qualification such as a postgraduate diploma (distinction level). Assessment of a student's suitability for the role of organisational psychologist will include an interview and referee reports. Enrolment can be either full time (2 years) or part time (4 years). Preference will be given to full-time students. Students who are working full time must carefully consider the commitment required to pursue a postgraduate degree. We will make every effort to schedule classes back-to-back and in afternoon/evening sessions to assist part time students. However, part-time students should anticipate that this program will require a half time commitment on your part. If you are not prepared to make such a commitment perhaps you should defer application. It is the student's responsibility to meet course requirements.Back to Top3. FeesMost places in the course will be CSP (Commonwealth Supported Places). A limited number of full-fee places will be available. Information on CSP places. For current fee information please go to CourseFinder. Please note that for future years of your course, Monash University reserves the right to adjust annual tuition fees. However the University undertakes that any adjustment will not exceed 6% per annum and will be applied on the 1st of January each year for that year. From 2006, students enrolled in this course on a full-fee paying basis are eligible to fund part or all of their tuition fees through FEE-HELP. FEE-HELP is a Federal Government loan scheme that provides an interest-free, income-contingent loan facility for eligible students enrolled in fee-paying, postgraduate non-research courses. Students will be sent a FEE-HELP information and application kit with their letter of offer and enrolment details.
