Open Learning - PSY12 Laboratory AssignmentGender Differences in TouchThis experiment is a component of the Open Learning Subject, PSY12 Psychology 1B offered by the Department of Psychology, Monash University.
IntroductionIt is normal practice for all research using human subjects to provide a brief explanation of the research study in order for subjects to be able to provide their informed consent to participate. Therefore, please read the following outline of the current study before proceeding to the next screen. If you have any concerns about this project, please feel free to contact the laboratory coordinator at the email address below, or you may prefer to contact the University's Standing Committee on Ethics in Research on Humans at the following address. The Secretary Explanatory StatementSurvey of family touchThis study concerns attitudes regarding the appropriateness of touch between family members. The aim of the study is to find out about current community attitudes regarding what types of touch are appropriate. If you agree to participate, you will be asked to complete a short questionnaire which asks you to rate the appropriateness of several types of touching between family members in the family home. This should only take a few minutes. You will then be asked to submit your responses so they can be collated with those of other participants. You do not need you to put your name on the questionnaire, and so your responses will be completely anonymous. Participation is open to all individuals aged 16 or above, whether or not you are enrolled in PSY12. Your participation is purely voluntary, even for students enrolled in PSY12.
