Understanding the process of engagement with problem gambling counselling services
We have studied the engagement process at a population level through preparing state-wide summaries over six years of the epidemiology of presenters to Victorian problem gambling counselling services as well as at the individual level. We now know a great deal more about who and how and why people engage with support services to deal with their problem gambling and this has informed policy and service design. We have devised an evidence based theoretical model of engagement and problem gambling service uptake.
