Dr Nicki Dowling

(Senior Research Fellow)

Nicki Dowling, PhD, MAPS, is Senior Research Fellow in the Problem Gambling Research and Treatment Centre. Dr Dowling is a registered psychologist (Psychologists Registration Board of Victoria) and has previously been employed as a lecturer for both undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programs.

She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, a member of the Australian Psychological Society’s College of Clinical Psychologists, and an executive committee member of the Australian Association for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. She is also employed part-time as a problem gambling counsellor at Melbourne Counselling Service (Gamblers Help City).

Dr Dowling is an experienced researcher in the area of problem gambling and supervisor for many postgraduate students conducting research in problem gambling. She regularly publishes gambling-related articles in peer-reviewed journals and disseminates research findings at conferences and workshops. She is also a member of the Responsible Gambling Ministerial Advisory Council Research Working Party (Office of Gaming and Racing, Department of Justice), the main role of which is to provide input into the formulation of the Victorian gambling research agenda.
