Ageing and Community Health Services in China

We are currently developing a major program of research and development collaboration with Fangzhuang Community Hospital of Fengtai District of Beijing.

Fangzhuang Community Hospital has established a comprehensive community health service network, which provides a range of health and medical services to meet the health needs of residents. With the administrative support of Fengtai and Beijing Health Departments, and academic input from Chinese research organisations (including Peking University and China Capital Medical University), the Hospital president (Dr. Li Zhixin) is working to improve services. Senior management of the Fangzhuang Community Hospital and Fengtai Health Department have reached preliminary agreement with Peking University Health Science Centre and Monash University to carry out an in-depth and multi-disciplinary research program. The topic areas under consideration include:

  • Satisfaction with primary care services
  • Conceptualisation of successful ageing
  • Maternal and child health
  • Health and health services for older people
