Monash University has partnerships with a range of Chinese academic Institutions. These range from Faculty to Faculty partnerships to comprehensive university wide partnerships.
Recently Monash has signed formal co-operation agreements with Sichuan University, China Capital Medical University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Richard Larkins has led these developments with senior level delegations and involvement.
In addition to agencies with which we have formal university wide links our program has links with dozens of academics and hospital staff who are involved as partners with our research and development programs. These links and partners are listed under our various project descriptions.
Our partnership model is one of genuine partnership. The benefits and outcomes of our work are shared equitably with our partners. We publish our work jointly and seniority of authorship of materials is rotated and shared. The investments of our partners and ourselves are also shared. The principle is that we pay our own costs and our partners pay their costs. Jointly obtained resources are shared amongst the partners.
We intend to work in China for the foreseeable future. So we think our path to success involves the development of equitable and sustainable partnerships involving genuine friendship with our partners.
