Chinese Research Centre on Ageing

The Chinese Research Centre on Ageing (CRCA) was established in March 1989. Its establishment was approved by the State Council (China’s Central Government). As national level government institution, the CRCA is designed as comprehensive research organisation of collecting, studying and distributing information about aged population and healthy ageing. The CRCA, as one of an advisory body of the State Council, provided scientific evidences to central and local bodies and communities about how adopt with social and economic development in the coming ageing China. Its focuses of researches include population ageing, strategies and measures of facing aged society in China in circumstance of oriental culture contexts, transition from planned economy to socialist market economy, and faster development of Chinese economy. The CRCA has function of linking national research resources in healthy ageing. It contributes multi-dimensions partnership both in theoretical and practical studies. The CRCA has provided plenty of reports to national and local planners, and strongly supported national and local planning.

The CRCA has sections of Statistical Survey on Ageing, Social Security and Industry in Ageing Society, Public Policy on Ageing, Information Technology for Ageing Study, and Journal of Chinese Ageing Study.
