Peking University First Hospital is a comprehensive hospital, which was established in 1915 and is the first clinical hospital in China. In 1991 it built Women and Children Hospital, which is the third level top hospital and baby love hospital approved by Health Ministry and WHO. The whole hospital has 51 wards, 1368 beds, 29 clinical sections and 12 medical technical sections which have 6678 high tech equipments. The hospital provide acute treatment 4000 times per day, take in more than 23000 inpatients and do tens of thousands surgeries annually. The hospital covers more than 500,000 persons’ staff  basic medical insurance, 62105 employer expense medical contracts, 8620 medical care contracts and 1/8 officer health care in Beijing. The hospital also has more than 100 special need clinics, 400 specialist clinic and 103 specialized clinics. The hospital has high treatment skills and rich experience in all normal diseases, multi diseases and difficulty diseases. Some of disease prevention and research reach national leading position or the high level in the world. There are three paths in medical education which are undergraduate, postgraduate and advance training. For postgraduate education there are 4 national priority academics, 18 doctoral sites, 24 postgraduate site and one post doctoral station. For medical research there are 6 research institutes, 10 research centers, 1 ministry level laboratory, 14 research sections, 5 laboratory, 6 research assistance sections and 1 national medicine clinical research base. The hospital also has preventive caring department, which focus on infectious disease prevention and treatment, immunization, women and children health care, regular health check and health communication, etc.  PKU First Hospital is famous nationally and internationally.
