Beijing Fengtai Hospital is a district central hospital combined with medical treatment, education, research, prevention and health care. It was praised as Window Hospital by Fengtai District Government. 1996 it was classified to top class second level by Beijing Hospital Assessment Committee, and became the education hospital for Hebei Medical University as well as training base for Beijing clinic doctors. 2000 it was became a  member of Beida Hospital Medical Group, Beida Hospital Medical Group Fengtai Hospital, and was named as District Medical Centre by Beijing government.

 Fengtai Hospital started technique developing program in 2001. It held technical week and provide new encouraging policy to absorb urgently required talents and create better working environment for the talents. The hospital has formed thick academic atmosphere. The skill of priority faculty and related sections has improved quickly.

In December 2001 the hospital took in the national leading heart medicine intervention expert, Doctor Hui Yongming, and carry out the first interventional heart surgery. Since then the hospital already undertook nearly 100 interventional heart surgeries with 100% success.
