Fangzhuang is a large residential community in south of Beijing downtown. It was built in 1985 and became the first modern living district in Beijing’s history. Fangzhuang was once named Wealthy Area located in Southern City.

Fangzhuang hospital established in 1992 and provided preventive and basic medical services to 100,000 residents of Fangzhuang community. Fifteen years later, a comprehensive community health service network has been established in the community, which provides range of health and medical services as modern medical model and meeting health needs of residents. With administrative supports of Fengtai and Beijing health departments, and academic assistances of research organisations (including PKU and CCMU), Hospital president (Dr. Li Zhixin) is working with his colleagues hardly for better services to the modern community. Senior leaders of the Fangzhuang hospital and Fengtai health department have reached preliminary agreement with PKUHSC and Monash on carrying out in-depth and multi-disciplinary researches. The research initiatives will significantly contribute to better policy making and service management, and finally to better health of Fangzhuang community.
