Beijing Fengtai Health Bureau is one of functional departments of government administrative management. The main functions include administrative management and monitoring regulation implementation. It undertakes resource deployment and centralised plan for health development and construction in whole district with law, regulation and economical methods; undertakes the approval and management for medical organisation structures; assure medical service quality; take charge of the prevention and control of local infectious and chronic diseases; organise residents to donate blood; undertakes centralised monitoring and management for collecting and providing blood, as well as manage Red Cross and Medical Committee. Up to the end of 2003, there were totally 461 health organisations, 8555 health professionals and 6026 beds in the district.
