Healthy Ageing Research International activities

Professors Browning, Thomas, and Dr Yang are board members of the China National Centre for General Practice Research and Development. This is a joint development of the Chinese Ministry of Health, the Beijing Health Bureau and Chinese and international universities. Professor Browning serves on the International Scientific Advisory Council of the International Research Centre Healthy on Ageing and Longevity. Dr Feldman is Secretary of the Research Committee on Ageing of the International Sociological Association and is on the Executive Committee of the International Consortium for Intergenerational Programming.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Prof Colette Browning and Dr Harriet Radermacher travelled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in March 2009. The purpose of this trip was to develop research collaborations with Monash University Sunway Campus and Universiti Putra Malaysia. It is also a data collection site for Dr Noorlaili Tohit (PhD student) as part of the Cultural Conceptualisations of Ageing Program. Please click here for further details and photos from the trip.

Ages and Stages: The Place of Theatre in Representations and Recollections of Ageing (Keele University, UK)

Associate Professor Susan Feldman is involved with the Ages and Stages program, a collaborative, interdisciplinary mixed method project which aims to explores how age and ageing has been constructed, represented and understood in individuals' lives over a 40 year period.
