Profile

Kerry Brydon, B. Comm. (Melbourne), BSW (Melbourne) MSW (Monash) joined the department in 2003.  She has a background of more than twenty years working in the child protection arena.  She has experience in both adult and juvenile corrections, working with volunteers and extensive experience in staff supervision and management of child protection programs.  During the period 2003 - 2004 she also gained experience in the field of the non-government sector and in hospital social work particularly with the aged care group.  She has also presented a number of papers at conferences both locally and overseas and in 2004 began to publish articles in professional journals.  She has recently completed her Master of Social Work degree (by research) in which she explored the barriers to permanency planning for children and young people in the child protection system in Victoria.  Since being at Monash Social Work she has been involved in the delivery of fieldwork programs.  Ms Brydon is currently the Co-ordinator of the BSW Offshore Programs.
