Cellular Signalling and Human Disease –
Associate Professor Tony Tiganis

Recently, Associate Professor Tony Tiganis has published work showing that enzymes known as protein tyrosine kinases (PTKs) have a greater role than previously thought in the rate of cancer growth and tumour change over time. His laboratory found that PTKs have an important role to play as cancer cells grow and mutate to become potentially more aggressive tumours. Associate Professor Tiganis is researching cell communication networks in diseases such as cancer and diabetes.
