Forensic Psychologist

Simon Brown-Greaves

Simon began his career as a psychologist at Pentridge Prison, where he dealt with some very ‘interesting and challenging people’. He spent 5 years working with inmates before he joined the Victoria Police where he was the Manager of the Psychology Unit. He used applied forensic psychology and occasionally gave evidence in court, worked with the hostage negotiation team, and provided psychological support for police involved in traumatic situations.

Simon left the government sector to pursue other interests, and began working as a Consultant for Chandler Macleod who provide Organisational Psychology services. He now provides recruitment and labour advice to companies.

“The ability to transfer the broad skills I gained from my science degree has created my future career skills”, Simon says.

Simon completed a BSc majoring in Psychology and did his honours year on a project at a youth prison. He went on to complete a Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology and then studied a Post Graduate Diploma in Criminology, while employed at Pentridge Prison.
