For much of his career, Dr Adrian Dyer has delved deeply into the brain of an unlikely test subject. Despite its miniscule brain, the honeybee performs surprisingly complex visual tasks. Now running his own sensory neuroscience laboratory at the School of Biomedical Sciences, Dr Dyer closely monitors these activities in work that could catapult developments in robotic vision

Around 200 of the newest recruits to biomedical science swarmed onto the lawns of Monash Clayton’s science precinct on a drizzly day in mid-February.
