Technology Services Group - Southern Regional
About Us
The demand for computing professionals at Southern Clinical School became apparent with the introduction of the information technology revolution, which took place at around 1993. Working practices for staff changed, and more emphasis was placed on using information technology to support core university business. A high level of demand, brought about by the shift in working practices meant that a local team of professionals was required to support and manage the current information infrastructure, both then and into the future. Based on the current growth trends at the time, it was apparent that local support was required and hence the Network Services team was born.
The team now supports some ~1000 users across 10 University departments, and a further 10 hospital departments, with University staff employed within them. Technology Services Group - Southern Regional operates on a service based cost recovered model. It has provisioned SLA agreements with its clients and Premium SLA agreements with Jean Hailes Foundation and Prince Henrys Institute.
As the demand for technology has increased the team has gradually grown over the years. The environment is very dynamic and new skills are constantly being learnt as new technologies are applied.
The team members are a highly trained group of Information Technology professionals who are committed to quality service in a rapid fast changing environment.
The latest University standards, policies and procedures are employed in order to maintain a high level of quality control and governance. The future alignment of Information Technology is maintained though constant feedback, and enhanced by business process management, to provide our clients with world best IT practice methodologies.
