CLINICAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
The Department of Paediatrics seeks an advanced trainee in Paediatrics to join its research programs in childhood diseases. Paediatric research is largely undertaken in the Ritchie Centre but may also be undertaken in other research facilities affiliated with Monash University. Applicants will be advanced trainees in the RACP or RACS training program who hold a clinical appointment in Paediatrics and wish to undertake substantial clinical or basic science research. Enrolment towards a higher post-graduate degree is encouraged but not essential.
The funding is provided by the Kathleen Tinsley Trust, which was established by Brigadier Walter Noel Tinsley in memory of his late wife, Kathleen, “for the betterment of child health”. The Fellowship will be awarded annually and will apply initially for one year. Subject to an annual review of satisfactory progress the Fellowship may be re-awarded to the incumbent for a further period not exceeding 2 years. The Fellowship will support a half time salary (up to AUD$50,000 p.a.). Funds are also available to allow the research to be presented at a national conference, and for equipment and consumables.
