Basic and translational research programs in the Lackmann lab focus on proteins that regulate cell morphology and motility, and their role in cancer progression, metastasis and invasion. We combine leading-edge protein interaction analysis and imaging approaches to study the oncogenic functions of these proteins in cellular and animal models. Through strategic alliances with national and international clinical programs, we exploit the findings from our basic research for the development of anti-cancer therapeutics. The research in our lab is funded by grants from the NH&MRC, Cancer Australia, Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia
