Caroline completed her training as a radiation therapist at Sheffield Hallam University, England in 1994. Caroline practised clinically, in radiation therapy research and as a specialist lecturer whilst completing a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Health Care and a Master of Science in Radiotherapy Studies. In 2001, Caroline gained her first academic appointment as a Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University and was responsible for convening units of study on both the undergraduate and post-graduate radiotherapy and oncology courses. Caroline was also actively involved in developing work-based learning programmes to support 'Assistant Practitioner' development. During her time at Sheffield Hallam University, Caroline completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education where she developed an interest in teaching and assessment in the clinical environment.

In 2003, Caroline joined Monash as the Course Convenor for the Master of Radiation Therapy. She convenes a number of the units and supports students from Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia and Queensland in completing their academic and clinical coursework. Caroline has convened numerous workshops throughout Australia on clinical education, professional practice and evidence based practice.

Caroline's clinical interests include head and neck cancer, the role of advanced practice in radiation therapy and quality of life in head and neck cancer. From an educational perspective, Caroline's research interests include fitness to practice in medical radiation science, student selection for long-term retention in the profession, clinical assessment and the educational development of advanced practice roles.

In June 2006, Caroline was awarded the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences Dean's prize for teaching excellence. Caroline is also active within the professional body (Australian Institute of Radiography) and is currently a member of Victorian Branch Committee and has served on the Professional Education and Accreditation Board (PAEB). Caroline is a member of the Editorial Review Board for 'The Radiographer' (AIR, Australia) and The Journal of Radiotherapy in Practice (Cambridge University Press, U.K). Caroline is currently enrolled as an MPhil student in the department with the theme of her research being fitness to practice in Medical Radiation Sciences.
