Psych: Health Psychology and Behavioural Medicine Unit
Background
Health psychology and behavioural medicine both concern the intersection of psychological, social, cognitive and behavioural factors and their relation to physical illness and injury.
The business of the Health Psychology and Behavioural Medicine Unit is concentrated in two primary areas:
- Research
- Community Education
Note: we do not provide clinical services at this time
The Health Psychology and Behavioural Medicine Unit places a specific emphasis on the cognitive, behavioural and psychological risk factors for, and consequences of, illness and injury.
Our research and community education activities cover the lifespan, from early childhood through to the elderly. In addition, aspects of our work encompass all phases of the illness and injury cycle.
