Are there any extra requirements for Physiotherapy?

YES. Prospective students should be aware of the following requirements:

Background Checks

A satisfactory police check and working with children check is required for each student on an annual basis.

Please refer the Faculty website for additional information on the police check and working with children check.

Health Requirements

Students will be required to comply with the Faculty Immunisation and Infection Risk Policy and recommendations and procedures, to enable them to proceed through the course with an acceptably low level of risk.

It will be recommended that all students accept responsibility for having up-to-date immunisationsbefore commencing the course. Recommended immunisations will include diphtheria, tetanus, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, and hepatitis B.

Prospective students will be provided with detailed written information and, as appropriate, counseling about the effect that HIV or hepatitis B infection may have on the ability of health care workers to practice their profession.

Additional Information

Prospective students are advised that there may be additional costs associated with the course for text books and course support material, uniforms for clinical attachments, travel, accommodation and living costs associated with rural clinical attachments, a police check and precautionary measures such as immunisations which are required prior to the commencing the course.
