Students who have not achieved their entrance qualifications in Victoria must hold qualifications that, in the selection committee’s opinion, are equivalent to those held by local candidates. The qualifications must include the same prerequisite subjects as those for local candidates outlined above. Such applicants must demonstrate at least the same level of academic merit as that required for local applicants. Note: Applicants presenting with either partially complete or completed tertiary qualifications will be considered for entry to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy. Successful completion of two semesters (semester 1 and 2) of tertiary studies in the pre-requisite VCE subjects at a recognised tertiary institution would be considered comparable to VCE success in those subjects. Interviews will be held in late November/early December. Successful applicants will receive a letter in October/November requesting an interview. Indigenous AccessUnder the Monash Indigenous Access Scheme, indigenous applicants with pre-requisite subjects at year 12 level or higher can apply for entry through VTAC and may obtain a CAIS Supplementary form to strengthen their application. This form can be downloaded from the Monash University website, or obtained by contacting the Centre for Australian Indigenous Studies (CAIS): Telephone: + 61 3 9905 4200 Rural ConsiderationTo be eligible for rural consideration the applicant must have resided (according to principal home address) for at least 5 years of the previous 12 years in areas classified as RRMA 3-7 (RRMA: Rural Remote and Metropolitan Area Classification). Generally, applicants living outside of cities with populations of over 100,000 are likely to be eligible. Applicants will be considered for disadvantage, in consideration of their place of schooling and duration of their living in the ruralarea (defined as RRMA 3-7). Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) forms may be obtained from VTAC on request. Full Fee Paying PlacesThe Bachelor of Physiotherapy will offer Full Fee Paying Places in 2008. In 2007, these places cost approximately $24,550 per year. |
