Dr. Ed Gregory's research interests are primarily in the area of the physiology of sensory receptors, and particularly of the receptors in skeletal muscle. Current projects include investigations of the basic functioning of muscle receptors and of how they contribute to proprioception and to the control of the skeletomotor system at the spinal and higher levels of the nervous system. A second area of interest is the sensory systems of monotremes and especially the sensitivity to weak electric fields these animals have recently been shown to possess.
