Neuroscience Research - Department of PhysiologyThe Department of Physiology makes a significant contribution to the overall neuroscience research encompassed by the Monash University Centre for Brain and Behaviour (MUCBB). Within the Department the central and peripheral nervous systems are studied at a range of levels using diverse techniques including; state of the art molecular biology approaches, synaptic interactions and ion channel activity using brain slice electrophysiology and imaging, transsynaptic viral tracers, and integrative systems neurophysiology involving fetal and adult animals.
