BRL scientists have been very successful in obtaining ARC-Linkage grants with a variety of industry bodies including:
- Pfizer -VMRD
- Novartis Animal Health
- Dow Agroscience
- CSL Ltd.
The BRL also conducts contract research for the testing of antiparasitic and anti-inflammatory drugs.
Biotech spin-off companies
The BRL encourages the generation of intellectual property and the filing of patents.
Two biotechnology companies have spun-off from research conducted by BRL scientists:

Allergenix Pty Ltd is a company specialising in the development and use of large animal models for inflammatory diseases, in particular asthma and allergy.

CancerProbe Pty Ltd is a start-up cancer diagnostic company based on a novel target discovery platform.
Education
BRL staff contribute to undergraduate teaching in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and immunology.
Postgraduate students are routinely exposed to commercialisation and industry issues.
Prof. Meeusen is a co-convenor and lecturer for the Bachelor of Biotechnology course at Monash University (Biotechnology Course)
