Education Program in Reproduction & DevelopmentMaster of Clinical EmbryologyThe Master of Clinical Embryology (MCE) is aimed at people wishing to pursue a career in human infertility clinical srevices. It is an intensive, one-year course designed to equip embryologists with the specialised knowledge and skills required to work in, manage or even establish an in vitro fertilisation clinic. This is the only course of its kind in the southern hemisphere. It has a worldwide reputation in the IVF community for producing high-calibre embryologists. The course develops technical expertise and broadens students' understanding of IVF clinic structure, operation, worldwide regulations and ethical considerations. The course also emphasises the importance of quality assurance and statistical evaluation procedures and factors to consider in the appraisal and implementation of new developments in assisted reproductive technology. The MCE condenses three semesters into 12 months. It is made up of eight sequential units, and there is the option of exiting after five units with a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Embryology. *Please note that this course is not a clinically-based infertility treatment course but is a laboratory-based course. There is no direct contact with patients or tuition in gynaecological/surgical procedures. Entrance requirements
